Bubble Gum Flags are made on my phone and shared on social media when I feel like participating. They are made by remixing different flags of the world into minimalist abstractions. These abstractions are paraded on my timelines often in alliances. They often help each other to look good, sometimes bad. They are called Bubble Gum Flags after a brand of chewing gum in Malawi, from childhood, whose wrappers included cards of different flags of the world. We were collecting and shuffling the flags chewing, passing the time, till the next event. These arrangements for the ECLIPSE Almanac have been made from the flags of countries represented at the 7th Athens Biennale 2021.
